Home learning
Reading: Thank you in advance for all your support and encouragement from home. Our recommendation is that the children read every night for at least 15 minutes and talk to you about what they have read. Please discuss any new vocabulary that may appear in the text.
The reading books are changed regularly in school. Children on free readers are able to change their books when required. Please do not bring in books from home.
Times tables: In Year 6, times tables and the related division facts are used regularly in lessons so please practice these regularly at home. Children in Year 6 should know all their times tables up to 12 x 12, and their related division facts. For example, 9 x 12 = 108 so 108 ÷ 12 = 9. Children will regularly practise their times tables facts in school.
Spellings: These will be tested weekly on Fridays. Children will be given spellings on Mondays. They will also be posted on Class Dojo. Below is the statutory list of words for children in Year 5 and 6:

We have also included links to National Curriculum documents for core subjects and half-termly overviews so you have an idea of what is covered in school.
